I
am 35 years of age and live just outside of
Oxford, England with my wife Julia and two
children Frankee and Thomas.
I started in photography some 15 years ago. My
first professional position was as photographic
partner for an Arial photography sales company,
operating on the south coast of England. This
mostly involved hanging out of a helicopter at
3,500 feet with a telephoto lens.
I then moved onto a publishing company producing
a regional newspaper. After a short space of
time the editorial policy of this paper expanded
to include women?s features such as beauty or
fashion, as well as motoring features and others.
As part of the women?s feature there became a
need for regular photographic material to
accompany editorial, so I began photographing
women. The next stage was a regular lingerie
feature and that was when I really started
taking b/w glamour and semi-nudes.
I was then offered the job of a corporate
calendar done in a fine art nude style, which I
completed for the 1994 year. From that things
escalated and I began getting offers of other
calendars and private commissions all in my
style, in addition to model comp cards,
portfolios, etc.
I then started to exhibit my work on the web and
over the last 2 years this has accelerated the
number of opportunities. I get up to 10 emails
every day from models and potential models that
want to work with me. I have been offered
exhibitions in various parts of the world.
Recently several book publishers have approached
me for submissions for various fine art titles.
I have just started being asked for CD covers
and recently by the BBC for a video cover shots.
When I photograph beautiful women I try to show
their sensual, feminine nature. My personal
preference is for black and white photography. I
think because we normally view the world in
colour it helps to stimulate the minds? eye. I
have the greatest respect, not only for my
subjects, but also for women in general. The
female form is a thing of fickle beauty; I hope
to have captured a few moments that can be
admired by all. |
